ScentsAbility.com was started by Bonnie, John and Jessica. Bonnie's daughter Jessica is handicapped, and has been since birth. In an effort to give Jessica an opportunity to contribute to our world, John and Bonnie came up with the idea for her and her friends to make candles. They are all part of the Florida Special Arts Center, whose mission is to seek the promotion of the performing and visual arts as well as the fostering of creative expression for persons with developmental disabilities. The Special Needs Color Guard of America, of which Jessica is also a part of, marched in the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. They are a great group of individuals, and Jessica could not have a better group of friends. Every member of the arts center enjoys making candles for the local arts and craft shows, as well as for selling on the ScentsAbility.com website. ScentsAbility proves that individuals with special needs do have the "ability" to play a role in the success of running a business.
